I think Shane & Ryan & Steven’s ability to create long-running fandom in-jokes is really cool actually. Not just memes or slogans but actual characters, bits, one-liners that we remember and they remember and continue to be funny. Ricky Goldsworth, Free Range Grass, Meatball Story, Smile Dog Picture, Friendship Divorce, Nighttime Dan, Throwing Ice, Feuding with Ricky Wang, Steven Lim Criminal Mastermind, Steven Lim Alien, Father Thomas, Truffle Boy, Gold Toppings. They’re uniquely good at it and it helps their shows feel inter-connected as a community.

I would never condone someone to do this discreetly and in mere seconds with a quickly concealed permanent marker, for example on a public bench or bus stop. Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it’s a recent term.
Although not going by the term “asexual” yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I’m so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
btw Jewish charity organizations in the USA don’t exist to convert you like Christian charity organizations, they are specifically Jewish because they were likely founded by Jews who were being turned away from other organizations. several Jewish hospitals exist in the US because many Jewish immigrants had degrees but were turned away from other hospitals for being Jewish. so we made our own, lmao. these days most of these organizations are no longer specifically Jewish because job and care discrimination is not as common for us as it used to be. i’m saying this just in case anybody is wary of accepting aid (many Jewish charities set up free food kitchens, for example) from a Jewish charity because of mistreatment by Christian ones, and i think it’s important to understand the difference
The bulk of the work HIAS does these days is in aiding non-Jews.
Your local Jewish Community Center? Anyone can join.
Jewish Family and Children’s Society? They’ll still help you if you reach out for their services and aren’t Jewish.
Ask the Hebrew Free Loan Association for a loan and have no connection to Judaism? Yup, they’ll work with you.
A Jewish food bank? Will feed you, no matter who you are.
And HIAS? My synagogue is working with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society to support a refugee family that is new to our area (we furnished their house, do social stuff with them, and make the phone calls that are hard for ESL folks). The father in the family is literally a pastor.

I also really love when a person gets kidnapped and is utterly unsfraid because they know that a specific person is coming for them and oh boy did that villain make a mistake kidnapping them.

The plan was to go there friday, but as you recall, I got lost in the forest looking for cool rocks and there just wasn’t time. So I took the detour on my way back.
Here is the setting. We are at the bottom of a disused quarry. We took an hour detour and walked here for a little while and maybe you don’t really know why I’m excited yet.
At first, unless you’re a geology geek (I am not, btw), you might just be thinking, ah, rocks.
But what if we move closer?
Okay, big slab of rock. Some cracks and pockets in it. And?
Come even closer.
What’s the big deal? It’s just a rock with some marks in it. It looks so boring and ordinary and why did I even drag you to this quarry and am making you look at boring rocks?

Why did the tetrapod come out of the water? Well, apparently there were invertebrates to feed on, and they left marks too:
